About App Central
App Central is a shelf of focused, friendly web apps built and run by Vishal Sharma. Each app does one thing well, works on any phone or laptop without an install, and uses AI where it genuinely makes the experience better, not as a gimmick.
Why it exists
Most "AI apps" are demos. App Central is the opposite: every app here is live, used by real people, and kept running. It is also a working portfolio. If you want to see how modern AI fits into a real product, from cost controls to privacy, this is the place to click around.
How AI is used
Each app shows a different, modern way of putting Gemini to work:
- Language and culture (Jyotish Darpan): deterministic astronomy and numerology do the maths; AI turns the facts into warm readings in English, Hindi or Hinglish and writes the daily content. AI never invents a chart fact.
- Vision plus code generation (Sketch Forge): the model reads a photo of a sketch and writes responsive Tailwind and React code, returned as structured JSON so the preview and code tabs are always consistent.
- Long context instead of RAG (Recall Vault): a whole recording goes into the model's context window in one go. No transcription step, no chunking, no embeddings, no vector database. Simpler, cheaper, and it hears tone and speakers.
- Structured outputs (Refactor Lens): the review comes back validated against a strict JSON schema with severities, line numbers and a complete rewrite, which is what makes it usable in a CI pipeline or a pull-request bot.
- Costs are capped. Thinking is disabled, answers are short, and per-visitor hourly plus daily budgets keep every app free.
- Keys stay on the server, content does not stay at all. Your browser never talks to the AI provider directly, and uploads are deleted from our server as soon as they are processed.
- Responsible use is built in. The developer tools ask you to confirm there is no personal or copyrighted material in what you bring, and keep a 90-day metadata-only audit log so legal requests and abuse can be handled properly. See the Privacy Policy.
How it is built
One small Node.js server hosts every app, with a shared Gemini client that handles text, images, media uploads, YouTube links and JSON schemas. The front-ends are plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript, no frameworks and no build step, so each app loads instantly on any phone. The whole thing runs in a single container behind Cloudflare.
